God wins!

So I had to give some conclusion to this week. Exams haven’t even started, and people have been out celebrating already. I’ve got quite a lot more to do, and it’s not looking fun at all.
But I have things to praise God for.
(Lemme sip a bit of my milk as I recount it again)
After the past few epic nights, I went for the group interview yesterday. There were about 30 applicants – all girls except for one guy. We all sat around round tables and did the group interviews. First we took turns introducing our partner, and then each of us talked about why we should get a job (I gave a three-point speech lol). After that was questions time, and I brought up that I can’t do Sundays because of church. They said that Christmas casuals are supposed to be on 100% availability at all times, that might affect my chances a bit. :( So then we headed out to the foyer and waited for the deliberation.
I got called to talk to the manager that interviewed my group, and she said that they think that I’m awesome (I’ll get back to that part later) but because of the Sunday thing, they are hoping we could compromise something. I insisted on at least Sunday afternoons off, and that was that.
After that when everyone was herded back to the interview room for the results, the regional manager pulled me aside, and told me that the managers were raving about me and thought that I was fantastic. She understood that I have to go to church on Sundays (and that church is a good thing lol) but Christmas casuals are needed 100%. But they didn’t want to lose me, and so, they offered me a permanent casual position.
OMGPTL. During the questions time another applicant asked if Christmas casuals positions can lead to permanent employment, and the store manager said that it’ll be based on the performance during the Christmas blackout period. So apparently I skipped the whole performance based thing and got the permanent position.
If this isn’t God’s favour, I’m not sure what is.
Later on at cell, I was sharing this with the group, and Jasmine encouraged me, saying that when the manager said that she thinks that I’m awesome, God thinks so too.
I’ve never dared think that. I told her, “Naww it’s all God” and she said, “No it’s you.”
It suddenly dawn on me that I can be awesome, because I am a being created by God, and He had fashioned me in His image. I’m awesome, because I am a reflection of Him.
For everything that happened, I now know that He is sovereign, and His favour is.. favour. It exceeds expectations, it exceeds what I wish for. He is the provider, He is for me, and who He is is enough.
In the same time, I realise I am amazing, fantastic, awesome. And people rave about me. But most importantly, that’s God’s opinion of me as well. Now, that’s mind-blowing.
And ultimately, of all these, God wins. (Not FTW, win already.)
